The 240th anniversary of the founding of Sulaimani was celebrated in a festival

On Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Sheikh Fakhr Sheikh Tayeb Educational Centre, the 240th anniversary of the founding of Sulaimani was celebrated through a joint effort by the Sulaimani Province, the Sulaimani General Directorate of Culture and Arts, and the Sulaimani Computer Institute-Evening. The event was sponsored by Kurdsat TV, Kestana Furniture, Cinema City, and Dabashan Mountain and included a variety of activities.

The festival began with an open discussion featuring several prominent personalities from the city, who shared beautiful memories of their lives and experiences in Sulaimani. Among the speakers were Akram Osman Noman, Gaziza Omar Ali Amin, Shaho Osman Sayed Qadir, Hanar Azad Abdulrahman, and Bilal Roof Salih.

M.Sc. Hawzhin Hassan, the authorized director of Maya Company, presented shields of appreciation to the participating guests and expressed gratitude for their presence.

The festival was formally opened by Ambassador Mohammed Sabre, Hawzhin Hassan, the authorized director of Maya Company, Rebwar Mullah Nabi, the Dean of the Institute, and several other notable personalities from Sulaimani. A significant number of students and attendees also visited the various cultural and historical sites featured at the event.
